Winter snow and holiday traffic can add time; check road status.

Take a taxi from Shuru Road, Prini, and ask for Vashisht village. The lanes are narrow and parking is limited, so a driver who drops you near the temple works better than taking your own car. Leave the car in our basement.

Winter mornings are popular for the springs, so go early if you want quiet, or late in the afternoon when the light turns gold. Plan to be back before dark, and carry a dry layer for the walk home from the water.

THE PLACE

Vashisht
in a few lines.

Vashisht is a village across the Beas from Manali town, known for its natural hot springs and the Vashisht temple Manali visitors often combine with a soak. It has a lanes-and-stairs feel, with small shops and a steady flow of visitors.

Hot water springs Manali winter visitors love are the main draw: a warm soak after a cold morning. Bring a towel and a change of clothes, keep valuables safe, and check timings and any rules at the entrance.

The lanes are narrow and parking is limited, so go on foot once you arrive. Dress modestly for the temple, and be ready for queues at busy times of year. Among the things to do in Vashisht, simply wandering and people-watching tops the list.

A PLAN

A cold-day plan from a hotel near Vashisht Manali

  1. 8:30 – A light breakfast at HOGS, and a taxi to the village.
  2. 9:30 – A soak in the hot springs and a visit to the temple.
  3. 11:30 – Wander the lanes, then head back before the day gets busy.
  4. 1:00 – A rest at HOGS with the valley in view.
  5. 4:30 – Gather your layers for the evening chill.
  6. 5:30 – Hot chocolate or coffee at DO NTHNG, and dinner with a view.

WHY PRINI

Why stay in quiet Prini
instead.

A cold-weather plan works best when the day ends somewhere warm and quiet. Vashisht gets busy at the best hours, so a stay across the river lets you visit at your pace and then leave the crowd behind.

Prini on the left bank gives you the calm, the parking and a cafe on site. After a morning at the springs, a hot chocolate on our terrace is the sort of small thing that makes a winter day feel complete.

QUESTIONS

Vashisht,
answered.

How far is Vashisht from HOGS?

Vashisht is a short drive from our address on Shuru Road in Prini. We have not published an exact distance yet, because we only quote numbers we have measured on the map, and traffic changes the time. Message us and we will share the best route.

Are the Vashisht hot springs open in winter?

The springs are popular in winter, but timings and access can change with the season and the weather. We do not manage them, so check locally before you go. Message us on WhatsApp on the morning of your visit, and we will tell you what we know.

What is Vashisht known for?

Vashisht is a village across the Beas from Manali town, known for its natural hot springs and the Vashisht temple. It has narrow lanes, small shops and many visitors in winter. It is an easy half-day trip from Prini if you start in the morning.

Is there parking in Vashisht?

The old village lanes and the temple are the main sights. From there you can head into town, visit Old Manali, or go up to the cedar forest and Hadimba Temple. Come back to HOGS for the evening at DO NTHNG. Ask us, and we will help plan the day.
