Winter snow and holiday traffic can add time; check road status.

A taxi is the easy way in: ask for Mall Road, and for the return ask for Shuru Road, Prini, near Mata Sharvari Temple. If you drive yourself, leave the car in our basement and avoid the central parking squeeze. Guests looking for a hotel close to Mall Road with parking often settle on us for exactly that reason.

Go in the late morning, once shops have opened, and plan to head back before the evening rush. Mall Road traffic at night is the part to avoid, so finish dinner in town earlier or eat with us on the way home.

THE PLACE

Mall Road
in a few lines.

Mall Road is Manali's central market street: a long run of shops, woollens, snacks and restaurants, with the Tibetan market and Van Vihar close by. It is where many visitors begin and end their days, and it can be crowded in season.

Bring cash for smaller shops and a bag for what you buy. Costs vary between stalls, so look around before you commit. Evenings are livelier, and so is the traffic.

Parking in town is hard in peak season, which is the main reason a stay outside the centre makes sense. Take a taxi in, enjoy the walk, and let someone else worry about the parking. If you want to stay near Mall Road Manali without the parking hunt, a Manali hotel near market streets but on the quiet side is the sensible choice.

  1. 10:00 – Breakfast at HOGS and a short taxi ride in.
  2. 11:00 – Walk Mall Road: woollens, snacks and window-shopping.
  3. 1:00 – Lunch in town, and a stroll through the Tibetan market area.
  4. 3:30 – A gentle walk at Van Vihar if you like green space.
  5. 5:00 – Taxi back to Prini before the evening rush.
  6. 7:00 – Dinner and a drink at DO NTHNG, with the valley going dark below.

instead.

A typical Mall Road Manali hotel puts you in the middle of everything, including the noise, the horns and the hunt for parking. Prini turns that around: you go in when you want, and when you are done, you leave it behind.

That matters most late at night. If you want to sleep with the window open and wake to the mountains, the left bank is the better bet. We are a peaceful hotel near Mall Road, never inside it, and a hotel near Mall Road with mountain view is exactly what the left bank offers.

How far is HOGS from Mall Road?

We are a short drive from Mall Road, on Shuru Road in Prini. We have not published an exact distance yet, because we only quote numbers we have measured on the map, and traffic changes the time. Message us on WhatsApp and we will share the best route.

Is it easy to get a taxi to Mall Road?

Taxis are widely used in Manali, and we can help you arrange one from the property. Availability varies with the season, the hour and the weather, so we cannot guarantee a wait time. Ask us at the front desk or message us before you head out.

Is parking available near Mall Road?

Parking in the centre of town can be hard in peak season. At HOGS Panorama we have basement parking for guests, so you can leave the car with us and take a taxi to Mall Road. It is one of the reasons guests choose to stay outside the centre.

Is it better to stay on Mall Road or outside it?

On Mall Road you can walk to shops and food, but you share the noise and the traffic. Outside it, you trade a short ride for quiet nights and parking. HOGS in Prini is built for the second choice, with views and a cafe and bar on site.

Is Mall Road busy at Christmas and New Year?

It is usually one of the busiest times in town, with heavy traffic and crowds. Plan your trips in earlier, and consider spending the evening on the left bank. We run Christmas and New Year packages at HOGS, including celebrations at DO NTHNG.
